1. SolidCAM
does
not try to “auto-magic” everything. SolidCAM focuses on making
the most powerful straight-forward and powerful CAD –
integrated CAM package available. Auto Magic looks great in
demos, but in reality, no one knows how to program your part
unless they know everything about your designs, your machine
tool(s), your cutters, your stock, etc. This simply is not
possible.
2. SolidCAM's
2.5d mill or Lathe package starts at $3,900, additional
modules like adding lathe or EDM to a 2.5d Mill is $2,000
additional for each. If you simply base your purchase on
price, SolidCAM is extremely competitive and will price match
all competitive systems . However, there are many more
factors equally important that should be considered to find
the best CAM solution.
3. Learning
curve, look and feel, support are things that will make or
break any CAD system. Even the best system is a struggle
without the strongest support possible always at your
fingertips.
4. SolidCAM
prefers to put as many tutorial videos on their website as
possible (currently over 80, two to three minute “how to
videos”).
5. SolidCAM
doesn't
charge for existing posts and will
do most edits free of charge. Posts are open and they will
assist you in modifying them.
6. SolidCAM
can provide
demonstrations can be on your
parts and will tailor the content to exactly what you would
like to see, when you would like to see it, for as long or
in-depth as you need.
